Investing in your leadership, managers and supervisors to ensure they understand and embrace the organization's commitment to the safety of its workforce is fundamental to success. Leadership sets the tone and needs to carefully address concerns demonstrating to staff the values, competence and care the organization is committed to.

Leadership, Managers, and Supervisors are juggling numerous competing priorities and demands while being confronted with safety concerns, that can be complex and multi-level. Utilizing the strategies from Coaching out of the Box, I actively listen, asking provocative questions to mine the Leader's brilliance while also drawing on my two decades of experience and in-depth knowledge of complying with occupational health and safety regulation to dig deeper. In this process, I assist Leaders in identifying the issues, and contributing factors, exploring potential root causes and navigating regulatory requirements that can be difficult to understand and make practical. Leaders and I parse through messy situations that can have multiple tentacles that reach beyond the surface health and safety issue. I assist by advising on how to manage the safety elements but I also go beyond for a holistic approach, finding as many ways to address the issue and direct where further exploration of human resource expertise beyond my scope may be necessary.
